Surfing Madagascar

The fourth biggest island in the world Madagascar is one of the most uncrowded and potentially epic surf zones on the planet!

The prime surf season in Madagascar is April to October with waves being found in the SW and SE corners of the island as well as the northern most tip and the NW corner.

Southern Madagascar’s coastline receives plenty of SE to SW swell groomed by strong NE winds for most of the year. The best time to visit is  from April to July when you will consistently score 4 - 12 ft waves.

The eastern side of the island is the place to be during the summer receiving cyclone swells (without the bad weather) from November to March, which can reach 12ft plus on NE-E facing spots.
